What will it cost to Create a living space at W.E. TRibal Village?
W.E. Tribal Village is intent on helping provide an opportunity to live off the grid for people who need to live in simple structures like tents, as well as vehicles, and Tiny Homes.
At this time, all settlements and camps will consist of temporary structures. Some of us will be able to invest in a structure of their choice (like a teepee, yurt, vehicle camper conversion, or Tiny Homes), but most of us will be starting with a bare minimum setup and building up from there.
Bare Minimum Set-up Example - Tent on a platform - $400 to $1,600
Your initial start up costs will be your biggest expense; around $400 to $1,600 depending on your needs. W.E. tribal members will not be setting up tents on the ground because of various hazards like mold, dry rot, pests, and dampness. A tent is simply not designed for long term use, so the only exceptions will be for short term WWOOFers, interns and volunteers on stays of 14 days or less. The Lead Facilitator will be able to assist you in creating a custom plan that fits your individual budget and requirements.
Other highly recommended additions are:

- High quality, preferably canvas, tent (anywhere from $100 to $600) .
Other highly recommended additions are:
- Futon (around $100 new or $30 used) - A futon not a mattress and box spring because it unfolds more easily, it recovers from dampness more quickly, and a box spring is an inviting home for field mice, centipedes, and other unwanted guests in your new eco-living space.
- Basic solar kit (around $200) - This includes a solar panel, charge controller, 12 volt battery and an inverter. This should provide enough power for a laptop, cell phone, LED light bulb and a small fan
- A picnic table (around $100) - A picnic table is stable, holds up to the weather, is pleasant to look at, gives you a place to eat, socialize, and read.
- Other Items you may wish to consider are a camp stove or campfire cooking rack, a hammock.
